Congratulations to Emery Whitehead, Graham Link, Emma Poppy, and Valeria Gamez on receiving the Illinois Principals' Association Student Leadership Award. These students exemplify leadership, character, and academic excellence. We look forward to seeing what their next accomplishments will be. Continue to work hard and set good examples.

Tonight's musical production of Grease at AlWood High School has been cancelled due to impending severe storms. Please plan to still support our wonderful cast and crew on Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2:00pm. Thank you and please stay safe.


Come out and see the acting and musical talent of AlWood High School students. Show performances are on March 14 and 15 starting at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 2 PM. We hope to see you at one or all of the performances.



The AlWood FFA has extra strawberries for sale. They just arrived yesterday and they are delicious! If you would like to order a flat, we have extra available for $36 per flat. A.S.E.T. is continuing its food drive for one more week. Winning class will get donuts.


The Oxford American Legion is hosting their weekly Queen of Hearts Drawing and joining forces with the AlWood Elementary School staff to raise funds for Mr. Larson and his family. Mr. Larson was recently diagnosed with Stage IV Follicular Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and is currently undergoing treatment. Mr. Larson served our country as a Marine and now serves the community as our elementary school principal. The public is invited to attend this event tonight, Monday, February 24th to show their support for the Larson Family. Dinner will begin at 5:30pm with the Live Auction at 7:00pm.


Congratulations to Softball Coach Renae Leander earning induction into the Illinois Coaches Association Hall of Fame for IESA and IHSA. She was honored today in Bloomington, IL with a lunch banquet.

The AlWood School District will have a traditional Snow Day for Wednesday, February 12, due to projected snow fall amounts with this winter storm warning. All after school activities for Wednesday will be cancelled. This is not going to be an E-learning Day and will be made up. Thank you and please stay safe!

FS Girls Basketball v. ROWVA/Williamsfield at 6:45 at AlWood.
Varsity Girls Basketball v. ROWVA/Williamsfield at 8:00 at AlWood.

All extra curricular events for this evening have been cancelled. Below are rescheduling details:
Freshman Boys Basketball v. Mercer County has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
HSGBB v. ROWVA/Williamsfield will be played on Thursday, February 6th in AlWood's HS Gym. F/S will start at approximately 6:45PM and Varsity will start at approximately 8:00PM.
JHVB v. Wethersfield will be played on Thursday, February 13th at 5:30PM at home.

Good morning. Due to forecasted icy road conditions for this afternoon, the AlWood School District will dismiss one hour early today, Wednesday, February 5th. All after school activities are cancelled.
