Jade Elisabeth Jensen, 12, of Alpha, Illinois passed away Friday, January 10, 2025 at home with her family by her side after a nine-month battle with Diffuse Midline Glioma. A memorial service will be held Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the AlWood High School Gymnasium in Woodhull, Illinois. The family will begin receiving guests at 10:00 AM. Luncheon will follow at the Oxford American Legion in Alpha, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be left to the family where funds will go towards a lasting memorial at her school. Jade was born on November 21, 2012 in Bettendorf, Iowa, the daughter of Dave Jensen and Elisabeth Petersen Jensen. She loved swimming, playing outside, drawing, Roblox, researching and visiting the Alamo, all animals especially her pet Axolotls. Jade will be remembered for having a heart of gold and spreading joy by meeting new people and giving hugs to everyone.
Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Dave (Amanda) Jensen of Alpha; mother, Elisabeth Petersen Jensen of DeWitt, Iowa; sisters, Jemma Jensen, Rachel Aitken-Low, Amber Aitken-Low; grandparents Dave and Sue Petersen of Calamus, Iowa, Jerry Jensen of Davenport, Iowa; great grandparents, Donna and Dwayne Petersen of Calamus, Iowa, Carol Stogsdill of Anderson, South Carolina and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her great grandfather, Jerry Stogsdill, and great grandmother Dorothy Jensen.
