The AlWood School district kicked off the new school year with a teacher in-service on August 13th. The morning started out with a breakfast and message from Superintendent Matt Nordstrom. Then the district welcomed new staff members Robin Damer (Maintenance Director/Custodian), Kyle Schipper (4th Grade Teacher), CJ DeKezel (5th Grade Teacher), Tammy Nieves (HS Special Ed Teacher), Danielle Olszewski (5th-12th Grade Band Teacher), Amanda Stewart (PreSchool Aide-Not Pictured), and Jeff Vinavich (Part-time custodian-Not Pictured).
The district also recognized Kristi Tittle who will be retiring at the end of the month as a custodian with the district for 17 years. Vicki Darwin was awarded a pin for 20 years of service and Julie Martins for 25 years of service. Sue Schultz and Mary Fuson were recognized for their Perfect Attendance last year. Technology Director, Vicky Carlson, then presented Professional Development for the teachers on Google Resources and they will have an Application of Google Workspace in the Classroom in the afternoon. It was been a great start to kick off the 2024-2025 school year!
